Shoplifter hits employee, runs over arm www.privateofficer.com

COLUMBIA, Tenn. Jan 2 2008 - Columbia police are investigating an assault at a Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse store Wednesday morning.
Police said a shoplifter was leaving the store when an employee confronted him.
Columbia police said Charles Kelley hit 60-year-old Anthony Young in the head and kicked him. Young, who wears a pacemaker, required treatment at Maury Regional Hospital.
Young followed Kelley out of the store because he suspected him of shoplifting.
Young rolled underneath a car for safety.
Kelley fled in a getaway car driven by William Michael Ragsdale, 32. Ragsdale drove over Young's arm as he left the parking lot.
There was no word whether police have a shoplifting suspect in custody.
Police arrested Ragsdale and charged him with leaving the scene without giving aid to an injured person.
Police issued warrants for Kelley for allegedly shoplifting.
On Wednesday afternoon, Ragsdale posted bond, which his mother co-signed.
