Dallas Tx. Dec. 7 2007 Dallas police detectives Wednesday night arrested a 20-year-old man who they say disarmed a security guard and made off with more than $200,000 in merchandise from a Zales outlet store Tuesday afternoon.
Police said Evan Charles Lewis was caught with a large quantity of jewelry from the store. No one was hurt in the robbery about 2 p.m. at the store at 8701 John West Carpenter Freeway, police said.The gunman threatened to shoot employees as they loaded his beige duffel bag with dozens of diamond rings and other jewelry.
No one was injured in the robbery about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the store in the 8700 block of John West Carpenter Freeway, police said. The gunman threatened to shoot store employees after he disarmed the store security guard who had been surprised by the robber.Dallas police described the gunman as about 6 feet tall, weighing about 180 pounds and in his 20s. The man was wearing a white dress shirt and black stonewashed jeans and had put out a citywide look pot bulletin for the suspect saying that he was considered armed and dangerous.
Good police work from several uniform officers and detectives resulted in a quick capture of the alledged robber.
Police are not sure if there were others involved and are still investigating.
