Jefferson Cty N.Y. Dec. 5, 2007

For the second time this year, a retired Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy has been charged with larceny.
47-year-old Gregory R. Bush of Brownville, is accused of attempting to steal $274 worth of merchandise at J.C. Penney in the Salmon Run Mall Friday afternoon, according to Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies.
Deputies said store security saw Bush walk out of the store with men's clothing and kids items in a J.C. Penney's shopping bag, and a table-top air hockey set without paying for the merchandise.
Bush told store security he intended to come back in to pay for the items. He was charged with Petit Larceny and will answer the charges in Town of Watertown Court December 13th.
Bush was charged on August 11th with Petit Larceny after allegedly walking out of Price Chopper with groceries he failed to pay for.
Bush, a 23-year veteran of the sheriff's department, retired this past year after being found not guilty in Jefferson County Court of Grand Larceny and official misconduct. He had been accused of stealing $800 from a drug suspect.
