Family takes mall tour burglarizing cars www.privateofficer.com



SANFORD, Fla. Dec. 5, 2007

-- A woman and her son were taken into custody Friday on suspicion they traveled to different malls on a burglary spree while people were busy with holiday shopping, according to FLORIDA law enforcement. Sanford police said Glorida Holden and her son William Ervin targeted shoppers' vehicles in Seminole County.The pair first burglarized cars at the Altamonte Springs Mall before doing the same thing at a Best Buy in Sanford, investigators said. They then apparently continued with similar crimes in the Seminole Town Center Mall.Officers said both were eventually captured after a traffic stop.Ervin attempted to flee police but an officer jumped into the vehicle and was able to stop it, according to detectives. The age of the son was not released.No one was injured in the incident.
