Four employees busted for theft www.privateofficer.com



WHITE PLAINS - The Target store in the City Center could be looking for a few new honest cashiers after four employees were arrested Monday on theft charges.
Jelani Stiff, 18, of 117 Tallwood Drive, Harstdale began working at the 9 City Place store on Sept. 22 and allegedly began stealing on his very first day, police said today.
Stiff was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, after store security said that between Sept. 22 and Thursday he gave himself discounts totalling $327.20 on various merchandise. Cops said Stiff's actions were caught on store security cameras. He's being held on $500 bail, awaiting arraignment in City Court.
In an unrelated case, three other Target cashiers were arrested Thursday after they were accused of stealing clothes, gift cards and other merchandise between Oct. 6 and Nov. 4. All three were charged with petty larceny and are being held on $500 bail each. They were to be arraigned in City Court today.
Arrested were: Dinine Jones, 36, of 16 Lawrence Street, Yonkers, accused of stealing $467.77 worth of merchandise; Jimmy Basque, 18, of 175 Stanley Ave., Yonkers, who police said stole $693.65 worth of merchandise; and Hasan Jones, 20, of 303 Martling Ave., Tarrytown, who is charged with stealing merchandise valued at $56.97.
