Officer injured arresting shoplifter www.privateofficer.com

A Hillsboro police officer suffered a leg injury while attempting to detain one of three shoplifting suspects.
Authorities were called to Claire’s at Outlets at Hillsboro about 8:20 p.m. Thursday, November 8.
Officer Stephen Nanny was arresting a 24-year-old Hillsboro woman when they fell to the ground.
Reports indicated that Nanny suffered a broken leg when the woman fell on him.
The suspect, along with 18- and 19-year-old Hillsboro women, was taken into custody on theft charges. The older woman was also charged with resisting arrest.
Merchandise, valued at $28, was recovered by police, according to reports.
The officer was taken to Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro for treatment.
Assisting on the call were Corporal James Morton and Officer Isreal Abrego.
