Shopper ambushed at mall;kidnapped www.privateofficer.com

Salisbury N.C. Nov. 7 2007
A woman was ambushed at a shopping mall and a man with a gun forced his way into her car then made her drive from bank to bank.
the attack happened at the Salisbury Mall Tuesday afternoon in broad daylight.
WBTV's David Whisenant is on top of this investigation tonight.
The woman is okay and was able give a good description of what the guy looks like.
The attack happened yesterday around 11:00 am.
The mall was busy, it was bright and sunny, she came out of Big Lots and found herself face to face with a man carrying a gun."
The man came up behind the 64-year-old woman, showed his gun and forced his way into her car.
They drove out of the mall parking lot. He made her drive to one bank for money, then to a Sun Trust to get more cash.
After getting money there, the man ran away. He's still on the run and police say folks need to be careful, even in the middle of the day.
"Don't take for granted that just because the sun is shining and it's pretty that people aren't watching you," said Deputy Chief Steve Whitley of the Salisbury Police. "Hoodlums and thugs, people like that, this is how they make their living, by assessing people at their weakest state."
The woman was not hurt, police told us she was very upset, very shaken over what had happened.
The woman told police the thief was a big guy. A black man, 5'8, about 200 pounds with a heavy African accent.
If you have any information that could help police catch this man, call Salisbury Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245.
